Currently, Yoko Taro is still not involved in the new game Nier or Drakengard, but he and famous composer Keiichi Okabe have prepared an interesting game called Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars. This is a new RPG game that is packaged in a tabletop format, where uniquely all elements in the game are presented in the form of cards such as character dialogue, world settings, to the NPCs in it.
The good news is that fans don’t have to wait long, because this game is scheduled to be released this October. Actually, there was also confirmation that the release was only limited as a digital game, but some time ago the developer has announced a Special Edition bundle that comes in a physical version and can be ordered exclusively through Square Enix E-Store.
It’s not entirely the physical version, because the game itself is only presented on a card with a redeem code. But at least there is some special merchandise content such as an outer box with special illustrations from Kimihiko Fujisaka, Art Booklet, Metal Card sets, as well as DLC content for the “Traditional Craft Top” player piece and cards with the “Golden Dragon Crest” pattern. Please note that this special edition is only for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, while the price is set at 10,670 Yen or around IDR 1.3 million.
Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars is scheduled to be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC on October 28. Incidentally there is already a free demo version that you can play if you are interested in trying out the game first before deciding to buy.
